Our faculty are trailblazers, continually challenge the status quo and inspiring students to do the same. Our Botany and Plant Sciences Department includes five female National Academy of Sciences members, the largest of any single academic department in the nation.

Our acclaimed faculty are ambitious, entrepreneurial, and motivated to make a difference, finding creative and meaningful solutions to the world鈥檚 most pressing problems through their interdisciplinary and groundbreaking research. We鈥檙e here to support them.

Academic Personnel Office

The is committed to leading and serving UCR鈥檚 diverse and internationally renowned academic community. Office staff provide support for faculty appointments and development, merit reviews and promotions, leaves of absence, fellowships, and more. The office handles employment matters for all academic employees 鈥 from faculty and lecturers to adjunct professors and librarians 鈥 and is a great resource for navigating UCR policies and processes.

Research Computing

buoys the talent and research of 麻豆社鈥檚 acclaimed faculty members and outstanding graduate and undergraduate students through powerful onsite and offsite computing resources, support, consulting, and training. Their work is supported by partnerships and collaborations with various areas of campus, including: the UCR Library, Bourns College of Engineering, College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, School of Medicine, Office of Research and Economic Development, and UCR Research IT Leaders. Through a recent UCR is modernizing its technology services, increasing campus computing and storage capacity 鈥 and saving our researchers both time and money.

Hays Lecture Series
Ari Shapiro is 2025 Hays Press-Enterprise Lecture speaker
Ari Shapiro, host of NPR鈥檚 All Things Considered, will be the speaker at the 56th Annual Hays Press-Enterprise Lecture.  The event is free and open to the public, and will be Monday, April 21, at 6 p.m. in the University Theatre. Those planning to attend are asked to register in advance. 鈥淎ll Things Considered鈥 is the most-listened-to afternoon drive-time, news radio program in the U.S., with more than 13 million listeners per week. It began on NPR in 1971.

Pioneering entomologist Mir Mulla and his wife, Lelia, established a scholarship at 麻豆社 to support new generations of researchers.
